The Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, Alhaji Taiwo Abiodun Odumbo, has convened a high-level pre-resumption meeting with key education stakeholders to ensure a proactive, smooth and impactful start for the commencement of the 2025/2026 academic session.
The meeting held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, brought together the full management team of the LGEA, comprised of Heads of Sections alongside School Managers, Centre Coordinators, leaderships of the School-Based Management Committees (SBMC), and Parent Forum in Ikorodu Division.

In a statement by the Education Secretary, Alhaji Odumbo, it was stated that the gathering served as a strategic platform to align stakeholders ahead of the official resumption date set for September 15, 2025.
During the meeting, Alhaji Odumbo, emphasised the need to foster a seamless collaboration between School Headteachers, SBMCs, and Parent Forums. Stakeholders were urged to maintain adequate record-keeping and ensure timely communication of activities to the appropriate LGEA sections.
“The meeting canvassed for stronger teamwork between Headteachers, Assistant Headteachers, and teaching staff, recognising that unity and shared responsibility are essential for school success.

“School heads were encouraged to embody the principles of firmness, fairness, and focus, ensuring that leadership decisions are guided by equity and purpose.
“The agenda spotlighted the importance of regularity, punctuality, and wellness among both staff and pupils. Health consciousness and emotional wellbeing were identified as critical pillars for academic excellence, and in summation all of these must transform into positive academic outcomes,” Alhaji Odumbo said.
The Education Secretary commended all participants for their commitment and reiterated the LGEA’s dedication to fostering a conducive learning environment across all public primary schools in Ikorodu. The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to uphold standards and deliver quality education in the new academic year.
